CEREC treatment involves two key components: the CEREC Acquisition Unit and the CEREC Milling Unit. First, Dr. Arpan Nalin Patel evaluates your tooth for damage and selects the best treatment plan. After numbing the area with anesthesia, the damaged tissue, old filling, or crown is removed.

Next, the dentist takes a digital impression of your tooth by applying a harmless, tasteless powder and capturing the image with a specialized camera. This image is processed into a 3D model using the CEREC Acquisition Unit. The model is then used to design your custom dental restoration.

The design process typically takes around 20 minutes. Once complete, the blueprint is sent to the CEREC Milling Unit, where a ceramic block—matched to the natural color of your teeth—is used to create the restoration. This part of the process takes another 20 minutes.

Once the restoration is ready, Dr. Patel checks its fit and size by temporarily placing it on your tooth. After confirming it’s a perfect match, the crown is polished and permanently bonded to your tooth.

Thanks to this efficient process, CEREC crowns are often referred to as Same-Day Crowns. In just one visit, your smile can be restored to its natural brilliance.
